One book that I have been wanting to read is Foucault's Pendulum
by Umberto Eco. I have heard MANY people say that this is the book Dan Brown SHOULD have written instead of The Da Vinci Code
. If you haven't read Eco before, his prose is very dense and, sometimes, it's like slogging through mud, but he writes very intriguing stories.
Another idea is Hot Night, Big City
by Trevanian. I've read most of his other works--a few were lame, but most were EXCELLENT. This would be a faster read than Eco.
So, how do we vote on these?
